Prayut appoints 39 advisors for super reform/reconciliation committee

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has appointed 39 advising experts to the government’s super-committee on reform, national strategy, and reconciliation building or Por Yor Por.
PM’s Office Minister and Por Yor Por’s secretary Suvit Maesincee explained that tasks of the experts, appointed in PM’s order Thursday night, would include heeding opinions from local people following PM’s initiatives on creating public participation and mutual understanding.
NGO workers and people of young generation would also be invited to engage with local people, Suvit said.
Of 39 experts Suvit said to be of various backgrounds, six would work for the committee on strategic administration, 14 for the committee on national reform, 16 for the national strategy and three for the reconciliation building.
They would meet with Prayut on March 6 to be explained about their designated tasks, he added.
The names included former charter drafter Borwornsak Uwanno, former Foreign Minister Tej Bunnag, former Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Pitipong Peungboon na Ayuthaya, former permanent secretary to the Energy Ministry Kurujit Nakornthap, former CEO of Siam Cement Group Kan Trakulhoon, Bangkok Bank president Chartsiti Sophonpanich, Kasikorn Bank chairman Banthoon Lamsam ,former Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Supachai Panitchpakdi, and Thammasat University rector Somkid Lertpaitoon.
