The government’s supreme committee on reform, reconciliation, and national strategy was briefed on Friday morning about the progress of the reconciliation preparation committee.
The supreme committee, convened for the first time since it was established a few months ago, received updates and will discuss the overall framework of the preparation committee as well as future work following the charter promulgation, said Interior Minister Anupong Paochinda.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, who chaired the meeting, said there was progress on critical laws concerning the new national strategy which would last at least 20 years.
Prayut said 20 years is not a long period of time as the country needs that much time to progress, just like any other country, he said.
