Ratchaprasong is steeped in tea

The second annual High Tea Jubilee @ Ratchaprasong taking place in downtown Bangkok all this month and next has as its theme “Summer Tea Party”.



Ratchaprasong businesspeople and Bangkok Bank have arranged for eight tea rooms within the malls and luxury hotels in the area to join in the jubilee and explore the history and multiple cultural influences behind the tradition of afternoon tea.

Count on magnificent pastries and delightful desserts as part of the experience as the festival continues through April 30.

“Ratchaprasong Bangkok Downtown is one of Bangkok’s largest and most comprehensive lifestyle centres, offering an allencompassing variety of products and services for all lifestyle preferences, be it shopping, culture or dining,” Nattaporn Chevamongkol says on behalf of the Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association (RSTA). 

“The High Tea Jubilee @ Ratchaprasong brings together unique tea cultures and worldclass tea companies. The tea rooms involved are in the Anantara Siam Bangkok, Centara Grand @ CentralWorld, Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, InterContinental Bangkok, Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong and St Regis Bangkok and both 1823 Tea Lounge by Ronnefeldt and Twinings Tea Boutique are also participating. 

“The ‘Summer Tea Party’ concept is about letting customers cool down the summer heat with greattasting teas and sweet and meat dishes, with inspirations drawn from elegant tea traditions of the upper classes in countries including Thailand, England, Morocco and China. The result is a range of elaborately presented afternoon tea sets, in which everyone can take pleasure in the flavours and aromas of fine teas and international delicacies from across the world.”

Bangkok Bank credit cardholders can enjoy discounts of up to 20 per cent on the Signature High Tea created specially for the festival. Discounts are also available at the Mandarin Oriental Shop, Tea Lounge, Kuppadeli, CC Cafe, Camelot, Chaho, Crepes & Co, Harajuku Cafe Crepes, Ampersand Boutique, Emack & Bolio’s, Gelate and Mr Jones.
