Dechapol, Sapsiree eye on maiden mixed doubles at Swiss Open

Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai will eye on their first win together this evening in as they take on Indonesian Praveen Jordan and Debby Susanto in the mixed doubles final of the US$120,000 Swiss Open in Basel.
The third seeded Thai duo upset Chinese top seeds Zheng Siwei and Chen Qingchen 21-19 13-21 21-19 in 59 minutes, avenging their loss to the opponents last week in the All England Open.
“We controlled the match really well. We were so focused and stuck to our game plan. Even though we lost concentration at some points, we still managed to get back into the match,” said Sapsiree.
The pair has reached three finals: the Korea Masters and Syed Modi International in 2016 and last month at the Thailand Masters, but never won a title together. They trail the Indonesian rivals 1-2 in their head-to-head record with the latest meet went to the rivals 18-21 19-21 at Denmark Open last year.
“We will try our best to win. We have to be highly concentrated and finish points when opportunities come,” Sapsiree said.
