Valuables and over Bt70,000 in cash were stolen from golfer Kiradech Aphibarnrat’s Porsche in the parking area of a restaurant in Bang Khen in Bangkok on Saturday night.
Kiradech’s father Panupong, who parked the car at the Tam Sap Rim Bueng restaurant, told police his son’s money, including 500 Japanese yen, and two branded bags disappeared when he returned to the car after his dinner.
He found a reardoor window on the ground and the items missing. Strangely, the glass was not broken but in one piece. He immediately called Kiradech and both went to the police station to lodge a complaint.
Police found no clues after checking the restaurant’s closed circuit television.
Kiradech, the Thai No 2 and winner of three European Tour titles, is taking a break from tournaments to fix his swing and work on his fitness. He is due to return to the circuit next month.
