Temporary walkways built in the middle of the Mekong River
Temporary wooden walkways are being built in the Mekong River between the Thai-Lao border to allow the public access to recreational activities held in certain sections near the river.
So-called parties have already begun here in Nong Khai since early April.
Food, game stalls and souvenir shops have opened to serve visitors while families can also enjoy picnics.
Sections of the river became shallow during the hot season but are inundated with water during the wet season.
