Media receive flak over high-profile murder case reports
Thai social media users have criticised the mainstream media over their coverage of a brutal crime in Thailand which saw three women wanted in connection with the murder and dismemberment of another woman.
The media were accused of sensationalising the issue while the suspects’ lives received extensive coverage.
Additionally, the mainstream media are blaming each other over sensationalising the issue instead of serving society with their reporting.
The three female suspects, described as young and beautiful, were accused of murdering 22-year-old karaoke bar singer Warisara Klinjui.
They are now in custody after fleeing briefly to Myanmar.
